Daryl Peninton

“Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men.” - Colossians 3:23

That is the motivation that fuels everything Daryl Peninton does. Daryl’s professional artistic endeavors started as an inbetweener and later, a clean up artist at DisneyToon Studios in the early 2000’s and continued with his work as a storyboard artist for a number animation studios.

He has collaborated with Matt Baker to publish two books, the Big Bible Challenge being the first and SAMSON: RISE being the latest.

Daryl is an unashamed Christian, committing his artistic talents to point others toward Jesus Christ.

Daryl and his wife have four children, they live in Melbourne, Australia.

Matt Baker

Matt Baker is an artist and illustrator whose artworks gravitate toward exploring the mystery, struggle, and beauty of existence.

Matt’s career began in 2001, working in animation at DisneyToon Studios in Sydney. Since 2006 he has been freelancing as an illustrator, and in recent years has also begun to explore traditional forms of art in his so-called spare time. When he’s not working digitally, he likes to get his hands dirty with charcoals, inks, oils and pastels, all the fun messy stuff.

Matt has illustrated several comic books, including The Story of Jesus for Bible Society Australia. His artwork “The Gloriously Wounded” a charcoal portrait about triumphing over hardship, won both the Portraiture and People's Choice sections in the 2017 Newcastle Art Prize. He first collaborated with friend and former colleague Daryl Peninton in 2012, on the illustrations for the award winning Big Bible Challenge for Scripture Union. The SAMSON: RISE comic book is their second major creative collaboration.

Matt lives with his wife and two children in the Clarence Valley region of Northern NSW, Australia, where the summers are long and the winters short.
