DOMINION IS UNDER ATTACK!

On the brink of war, a royal family is in crisis.

A king who has lost the favor of the Almighty and the loyalty of his people. A son seeking his father's approval. A daughter longing for a purpose beyond palace life. And a queen struggling to hold the kingdom together as enemies gather at its borders.

Created by Dr. Barron R. Bell and written by Daniel Hancock, DOMINION is a sci-fantasy space opera inspired by the book of 1 Samuel. Combining the epic scope of Star Wars with the mythic imagination of Narnia, the series reimagines an ancient story of faith, family, prophecy, and war for a new generation.

DOMINION: Fall of the House of Saul — Volume 1 collects the first three chapters of the saga and is now available in a newly updated Crux Comix edition featuring refreshed artwork and new behind-the-scenes content from the creators.

THE DOMINION SAGA CONTINUES

After High Priest Samuel declares that the Almighty has torn the kingdom from his grasp, a shadow falls across the House of Saul. As Philistine forces strike the frontier, the kingdom's defenders face mounting pressure both on the battlefield and within the royal family itself.

Prince Jonathan defies the king to secure a perilous victory. Princess Michal struggles to find her place amid growing turmoil. And as King Saul's condition worsens, the queen embarks on a desperate search for a remedy that may be the kingdom's last hope.

Created by Dr. Barron R. Bell and written by Daniel Hancock, DOMINION: Fall of the House of Saul — Volume 2 collects Chapters Four and Five of the epic sci-fantasy saga, introducing new worlds, new dangers, and a mysterious musician whose arrival may change the future of Dominion forever.

Published through Crux Comix, this updated edition features revised artwork and bonus material that further explores the growing Dominion-verse.

“The storytelling is thrilling, the artwork is out of this world, DOMINION has all the fun of Marvel and Star Wars but from a Christian worldview. What more could we ask for?

Star Wars meets Narnia!” “Incredible!” “A huge hit!” “Loved it!”

“Dr. Bell proves to be more than a competent storyteller and someone versed in using the elements of comics to control pacing and narrative; he is also the illustrator, rendering anthropomorphism in a fashion that retains the realism aspects of the animals drawn upon while simultaneously giving them the expressive qualities attributed to humans and their emotions.”

(Critical Blast Podcast)

“Somehow, putting the Biblical war between Israel (now Dominion) and the Philistines in space lends itself to greater understanding. People who pick up this comic having never read the Bible will be able to easily follow along, as if they are watching Star Wars. On the other hand, readers who grew up with the Scripture can still enjoy the visuals of a new take on a story they already know.”

-Courtney Dowling
(Geeks Under Grace Podcast)

“This solid graphic novel is based on the book of 1 Samuel in the Bible, which is a great choice for a comic storyline. Familial tension and political undertones rise through Chapter One, with the potential for action, romance, and a “big bad” on the horizon.”

Infinity Bros Review

“Dr. Bell is taking the world-building seriously…and creating a backstory that will be binge-worthy when the series comes to a close. The art is stunning, the Biblical allegory is interwoven into the story masterfully, and the background and context is meticulously being created before our eyes.”

CCM Magazine Article

“Liberty University professor creates graphic novel based on King Saul…This intense adaptation of the classic Biblical tale will hopefully be an alternative to more objectionable material in comics today, all the while inspiring a love of sci-fi and fantasy…”

Comics and the Cross Review

“I love the story. It does it’s job, it gets me, it grips me… Samuel is completely awesome in the way that he is written. I absolutely adore Samuel… Dr. Bell has done an amazing job… You 100% need to check out this book…”

Critical Blast Review

“Biblically-inspired comic book stories are not a new thing. One could argue they go as far back as Superman himself... But that doesn't mean some of them can't feel like a new thing, and when they do it truly captures the imagination…”
