THE COURAGE TO FACE COVID-19 - BOOK TRAILER

The Courage to Face COVID-19 tells the true story of Dr. Peter McCullough, a respected cardiologist who became one of the most prominent and controversial voices of the COVID-19 era. Co-authored with bestselling investigative writer John Leake, the book chronicles the development of early treatment protocols, the fierce public battles that followed, and the personal cost of challenging powerful institutions during one of the defining crises of the modern age.

Part medical investigation and part true-life drama, the story follows physicians who believed early treatment could save lives while facing intense public scrutiny, professional risk, and rapidly changing scientific and political realities.

Daniel Hancock served as creative lead and director of the project's promotional trailer. Commissioned by the authors, Hancock developed the trailer concept, wrote the script, directed a live-action film shoot featuring McCullough and Leake, and personally handled editing and post-production. Working alongside cinematographer Chason Laing, the trailer was filmed in a single day and designed to capture the scope, urgency, and human stakes of the story.

Rather than approach the project as a traditional book advertisement, Hancock framed the narrative through the visual language of investigative journalism, true crime, and political thriller cinema. Through dramatic reenactments and stylized imagery, the trailer explored themes of corruption, censorship, scientific debate, and personal courage while capturing the tension of a real-world investigation still unfolding before the public eye.

As McCullough and Leake traveled throughout the United States and abroad, the trailer was viewed by thousands and featured at conferences and public forums. The collaboration led to ongoing work with the authors, including media development for their Focal Points publication and additional true crime projects.

Follow the ongoing investigations and analysis of Dr. Peter McCullough and John Leake through Focal Points, where they continue to explore the medical, scientific, and public policy issues shaping our world today.
